How it works
Subscribe to a Connect plan
With your BuildPCB account.
Add BuildPCB to Claude
In Claude: Settings → Connectors → «Add custom connector». Name: BuildPCB · URL: https://buildpcb.tech/mcp. Press Connect, sign in to BuildPCB and press Allow. Once.
Ask Claude for your board
Start a new chat and describe it in plain words: «A board with an ESP32, USB-C and a status LED».
Watch it appear, then order it
Open your studio at buildpcb.tech/app: the board appears live. Ask for changes in the same chat; the factory files are in the Factory tab.

Questions
Which Claude plan do I need?
A paid Claude plan that allows custom connectors. Pro works for small boards; a complete board uses a lot of AI, so Max is the comfortable choice if you design every day. Your usage counts against your Claude plan's limits, not against BuildPCB.
Does BuildPCB see my Claude account?
No. You sign in to Claude on Claude's side and to BuildPCB on ours. Claude only gets access to your BuildPCB projects, and you can disconnect it anytime from the studio («Use with Claude»).
Can I still use BuildPCB's own chat?
Yes. Connect includes no credits, but you can top up anytime and use the chat inside BuildPCB as usual.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs on BuildPCB's servers; you just add the connector address in Claude.
Can I remove the BuildPCB mark?
With Connect Business (and the Maker and Pro credits plans). On the other plans boards carry a small «BuildPCB» on the silkscreen and cases have it engraved underneath.
Is the result ready to manufacture?
It passes the same electrical, design-rule and final checks as every BuildPCB board. Designs are AI-generated, so have them reviewed before ordering.
