Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data BuildPCB collects and how we use it. The data controller is SMART GLOBAL PROJECTION, S.L., tax ID B27558758, registered in Spain (full address available on request at contact@buildpcb.tech). We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What we collect

• Account data: your name, email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive from Google your name, email address, profile picture and language setting (only the basic profile Google shares on sign-in — nothing else from your Google account).
• Billing data: the credit purchases and subscriptions on your account. Payment details are entered directly in the checkout of Revolut, our payment provider, and are never stored on our servers.
• Your designs: the projects and files you create, stored so you can return to them.
• Technical data: basic logs (IP address, timestamps) needed to run and secure the Service.
• Sign-in and usage records: each time you sign in (or a sign-in to your account fails) we record the date, IP address, the approximate location derived from it (country and city), and your browser and device type. While you are signed in we also record which pages of buildpcb.tech you open and how long they stay on screen. We use this to protect your account (for example, spotting sign-ins from an unusual country), prevent fraud and give you support. Sign-in records are kept for 12 months.

2. Why we use it (legal bases)

• To provide the Service and your account — performance of our contract with you.
• To process payments and prevent fraud — contract and legitimate interest.
• To keep the Service secure and comply with legal obligations (e.g. tax records).
• We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your designs to train AI models.
• To improve the engine we analyse technical error messages produced by the design tools (for example "this component library was not found"). What we keep are anonymised error patterns and counts — never your schematics, boards or manufacturing files, and nothing that identifies you.

3. Who we share it with (processors)

We use trusted providers only to run the Service:

• Hosting: our server provider, where the application and database run.
• Payments: Revolut Bank UAB (Lithuania), our payment provider (Revolut Business). Revolut receives your name, email, payment details and billing country to take the payment and prevent fraud, as an independent controller under its own privacy notice.
• Sign-in: Google, if you choose Google sign-in.
• AI engine: the design engine that generates your boards from your instructions.

Except for Revolut, as explained above, these providers act on our instructions and are bound by data-protection terms.

4. Where and how long

Data is stored on servers within our provider's infrastructure. We keep account and design data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, and billing records for as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. When that happens, the transfer is protected by a European Commission adequacy decision or by the Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), securely hashed passwords and restricted access to our servers.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct, delete or export your data, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email contact@buildpcb.tech. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).

6. Cookies

We use a single, essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
