About BuildPCB
BuildPCB is an AI PCB design studio. You describe the circuit board you want in plain words — what it should do, how it is powered, what it connects to — and BuildPCB designs it: it chooses real components that are in stock, draws the schematic, places and routes the board, runs the electrical and design-rule checks, shows a 3D model and exports the files a factory needs to make it.
We built it for the people who have an idea for a piece of hardware but not the weeks it takes to learn PCB design software: makers, students, founders, product designers and engineers who want a first prototype fast.
The name
BuildPCB is written as one word, without an “s”, and lives at buildpcb.tech. People sometimes search for it as “Build PCB”. BuildPCB is not affiliated with buildpcbs.com or any other company with a similar name.
What BuildPCB does
- From words to a board: a plain-language description becomes a schematic, a placed and routed board, ground planes and a 3D model.
- Real parts: components are chosen from a large catalog of in-stock JLCPCB/LCSC parts, with manufacturer part numbers in the bill of materials.
- Checks before “finished”: the engine runs the electrical rule check, the design rule check and current-based track-width checks, and keeps working until they pass.
- Factory files: Gerbers, drill files, bill of materials and pick-and-place, ready for JLCPCB, PCBWay or any other manufacturer.
- Anywhere: it runs in the web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with an optional desktop app.
